Why
is improvisation so compelling to global enterprise? It’s
because improvisers innovate quickly, radically, and brilliantly.
Their level of shared trust, their intensity and their results
go far beyond what is expected of typical organizational teams.
The
good news for business is that anyone can learn to improvise.
Anyone can learn to innovate on an extreme, yet psychologically
safe, level. All you need are the right tools, the right
techniques and the right coaches. The following workshops
are designed for maximum right-brain engagement, while at the
same time creating anchors and behaviors to help you become the
most radical and brilliant innovator possible... DIVE
IN.

WORKSHOP
#1
IMPROV MASTERY

We
start by creating the ‘Environment of Yes’, and we finish only
when you and your colleagues are creating comfortably within
that environment. That means learning to suspend your ‘judger
self’, and becoming available to the universe of possibility
that is at the center of improvisation. At that point you can
begin to actually play with possibility, and then,
even juggle reality. Difficult problem-solving eventually becomes
child’s play, and before you know it, you have achieved Improv
Mastery.
Our
Master Improv Coaches take you through a series of fantastic
and fun exercises that lead you step-by-step through this
incredibly stimulating and creative process. The result is
a deeper sense of trust and respect for your colleagues, and
a whole new level of confidence for you. The organization also
reaps the rewards: a more confident, creative, radically brilliant
work force.
Improv
Mastery is available as a 2, 3, or 4 hour workshop or as a
full day seminar. See the Yak Grooming page for details on
delivery times and costs.

WORKSHOP
#2
COMMUNICATE, NEGOTIATE, INNOVATE.

Verbal
communication skills are the life-blood of the improviser.
Oddly enough, in the corporate arena, such skills rank low
on the competency food chain. Preferred status is most often
given to technical acumen, to analytical skills, and to strategic
planning. Good communication skills are really not required
until the day that you find yourself in a leadership role,
and by then it’s quite often too late. These are the facts:
being skilled in verbal dexterity and expression before you
become the boss means being fully prepared to work at high
levels immediately. It
means having the ability to create and communicate with high-performance
teams, to build stronger leadership behaviors in yourself and
others, and to create certainty and trust for all stakeholders.
That’s huge.
“COMMUNICATE,
NEGOTIATE, INNOVATE” is
all about developing the kind of verbal skills necessary not
just for driving tactical initiatives, but also for expressing
vision, direction, and passion. And even though most organizations
are too buttoned-down to admit it, the truth is that the language
of innovation is the language of emotion.
And emotion is all about vision, direction,
and passion. We’ll teach you how to bring passion into
the workplace in a way that’s logical, practical, and inspiring.
Through
a series of carefully crafted exercises, our Master Improvisers
will teach you how to incorporate the language of creativity
and growth into your everyday vocabulary. They’ll also help
you install the anchors and incentives necessary to keep such
language consistent and active. As always, the exercises are
completely interactive and fun. Plus, as with any and all Laughingstock
programs, they build confidence, trust, and a stronger sense
of team. And, if there’s any time left at the end of the day,
we’ll even help you communicate better with your Yak. That’s
value. See “Yak Grooming” for times and costs.

The Organizational IMPROV
OLYMPIC GAMES
(Or, as we call it, “THE WHOLE ENCHILADA”)

We
call it “THE WHOLE ENCHILADA”,
and for good reason. This workshop / performance has it all:
creativity, innovation, communication, teambuilding, leadership,
strategy, presentation skills, yak grooming, all wrapped
up in an incredibly intense, hilarious competition. There’s
even a brief attempt at ethics. (Just half-hearted... after
all, we’re competing for gold medals here) The results are
absolutely astounding, because the event itself is mind-blowing.
It’s also the most fun you’ll ever have completely changing
your culture.
Each
competitive Olympic improv event is about mastering a specific
leadership or communication skill. Team and individual performances
are judged by our Master Improvisers (who cheat like crazy
for their respective teams), and the medal ceremony includes
uplifting music, podiums, medals (of course), and the ceremonial
and inspirational Olympic Yak.
“THE
WHOLE ENCHILADA” requires a full day and evening commitment
in order to realize its full value potential. It also HAS
to happen offsite. There are no half-measures, no cut corners,
no partial commitments. This is all-in, full-out, complete
and total creative culture change mayhem. It doesn’t work
any other way. Pricing depends on how many you have on your
team or in your organization, and how serious you are about
the ceremonial and inspirational yak. Let the games begin! |
